Bitter Sweet Triumph

This is actually kinda sad.  I have never had so much fun as I did doing this course. Thank You Cheri and Michelle!  You two did a beautiful job hosting November 2014 Photography 101.  To all those involved, my utmost thanks, admiration and respect… it has been incredible.  It’s going to be nearly impossible to go back to posting just once a week again.  I learned about blogging along the way too, which in turn will probably change the way I write here.  I have found that most people don’t care about my difficulties and hardships.  People need uplifts and happiness, entertainment.  I will try to keep this in mind as I continue on without Photo 101 to help me figure out what I should post.  Maybe I can find another photo challenge to try.

For my last entry I went with a photo from this last week when I had an amazing thing happen to me.  It had been over two years since I had seen my sons.  We had a falling out and I thought I’d never see them again.  Moreover, when they visited this last week, I had all but one of my children in the same room for the first time in many years.  My oldest daughter lives in California and could not make it but we thought of her and left a place in our picture for her.  Also, technically, I did not take this shot.  My husband took it for me with my camera.  Nonetheless, the photograph is evidence of a huge triumph in my life.  It’s blurry and awkward because we’re not all looking at the camera, but yes, that’s me in the middle.

Hello World, Nice to meet you.

Hello World, Nice to meet you ❤ .

No.  My youngest does not have eye problems.  She just loves being silly.  Yes!  I was ecstatic to be in that moment.

All in all, I am thankful to have been a part of this blogging event.  I can’t thank you all enough for including me.  I learned far more than I would have on my own, about photography, about social media, and socializing publicly.  I am proud of the submissions I made.  I would do it all again in a heart beat.  I also found some phenomenal blogs that I now follow and some lovely new followers of my blog as well.  It’s been a great ride and my final  The Daily Post’s Photography 101 entry, to me, is quite the Bitter Sweet Triumph.

I hope we keep in touch, wherever you are.

  1. This is a beautiful post to mark the end of this challenge. Like you, I’ve learned so much and meet some amazing new people – you included.

If I could respond to one comment – “people don’t care about my difficulties and hardships” – it would be to say, you might be surprised by how much empathy you can find in the blogsphere. It never ceases to amaze me when I discover that there are so many others who feel just . like. me. 🙂

    • Thank you…I am glad I made a friend in you. I really enjoy your blog and can’t wait to see where you take it from here.
I said that because I tend to use this space to complain about my life and that changed for me with this experience 🙂 . I realized that I can post about joy and lighthearted things and people respond likewise that much more. My life is richer with positive reflections…ahh, I’m rambling..I think you know what I mean. 😉
